Ruth Friedman, LPC

Ruth has been approved by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapist Board as both a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) Trainee and a Counselor Trainee, under the supervision of Michele Melaragno, MACPC, LPCC-S. As part of her clinical training through the University of Akron’s master’s program in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling, Ruth had the opportunity to work with a diverse array of couples and individuals. Additionally, she has completed Levels 1, 2, and 3 of the Gottman Method Couples Therapy training program.

Prior to pursuing a career in couples and family therapy and individual counseling, Ruth spent 10 years at The Ohio State University, where she served as a career and academic advisor, program manager, outreach specialist, and editorial associate. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from Wellesley College and Northwestern University, respectively.

Ruth is an avid reader and enthusiastic walker/runner. She enjoys spending time with friends scattered across the Columbus area and traveling out of state to visit family. Ruth also devotes considerable time to managing her two rambunctious pups and their equally active feline companions.
